Spirits of the Melchizedek Children

Hello friends. I wanted to post a recent video of my friends the Spirits of the Melchizedeck Children. I shot this handheld at the 529 in East Atlanta with my Canon Mark II 5d. It's amazing how great that camera can pick up light. There were no house lights for the show just small shop lamps pointing upward towards the guys. I will be taking photo's and video for my friend Melanie on the 7th at the 529 as well. If you are in to good ol' wholesome folk music come on out and support.

My research for my documentary has let me to connections in discoveries and I am everyday finding myself closer in closer to go time on shooting. My most recent interests lie in morphogenetics and field theory. I think these are really important topics and have a lot of answers to the reason we are the way we are and why we do the things we do. I also have become friends of a local artist, Patti Provost, who has been very nice to talk to and has given me a connection that might be of some answers for my doc. Here brother-in-law works with insects in a museum in Athens, GA. I am hoping he will have a lot to discuss with me about social insects and if I am lucky maybe he will know more about what it is I am searching for.

In other news, I will be leaving for New York from December 11th-16th for a Christian Wolff performance. I am also going to visit a few museums and try to wonder the city a little bit. I will make sure to bring back some footage for you guys.

Until then . . . look up,

Gracie

I went to visit my brand new niece a couple of days ago. Her name is Gracie and she is beautiful. It is amazing seeing a baby that is so new. The whole world seems to illuminate her eyes. I see a little bit of both my sister and Devon in her. I am so happy for them. That little peanut is going to have her whole life on digital files and compact flash cards. She is not shy with the camera though. I can't wait till she is old enough to buy her her own camera, go camping, teach her guitar and secrets about life. It's cool knowing you got a little kid thats going to be looking up to you. I always wanted a little brother, but I guess my sisters baby will do.
Here is some of the first footage of little Gracie. She has already begun to inspire me in so many ways. Way to go big sis!

My heart craves New Mexico

Lately all I have been thinking about is New Mexico. Every once in a while I get these dreams where I am in Santa Rosa State park and I am walking around and the only sound is the wind blowing past my ears. It is such a wonderful dream. There is never anyone in the dream. Just me and Santa Rosa. For the time I am dreaming it feels like I have found that one special place that helps you completely free and open your mind. Some day I will go back and visit. It's only a 20 hour drive or so. Maybe someday soon? Who knows. Sophie needs a break for a little while. This year has been hard on ze o' box.
I hope Sophies beautiful presence never leaves me. I will be the number 1 Scion Xb spokes person for the rest of my life. That car is perfect.
This year will be ended with more trips on a plane than in a car. I have found that my main interest right now is traveling. Now that I have the power of video at my finger tips, I will be documenting a city near you.
Top places to be traveled to this year:
New York
Los Angeles
Maine

There are plenty of journeys coming my way and I am going to take all with open arms.

Greetings my fellow internet patrons! I bring forth to you the official Scott McKibben Photography Blog.

This is the official blogger for Scott McKibben Photography. Here will begin a new cyber journey cataloging the work of the Atlanta, Georgia based photographer, video artist, and daring explorer of visual mediums, Scott B. McKibben. Scott's commitment to his camera, eye, and soul has pushed him in to the path of professional portrait, model, event, and wedding photography. His hard work and ability to strive for originality are his strongest attributes and he is consistently pushing his boundaries with advertisement and commercial work as well as fine art. There are no limitations for this young man and there is never a challenge to difficult.  With a feather in his hat and a camera at hand Scott McKibben will become as nostalgic as his photographs leaving an impression on everyone he meets.  His love for moving images has led him in pursuit of understanding the media and the effects on audiences. Scott hopes to one day bring forth free digital streaming video that can be accessible with anyone who is able to "tune in" to the internet.  He hopes that with the spreading of technology it will be possible for everyone to live sustainable lives.

"They are making computers that are now 20 dollars. These computers can easily be spread to small poverty stricken countries. My goal is to create video feeds which will give "the audience"  unlimited access to information displayed in a system that makes it most suitable for learning. By creating such video's I will be able to help these poor countries prosper and become self sustaining. Every human has been given the right to live all we have to do is help them get plugged in. These video's would help these people learn about indoor plumbing, sanitation, nutrition, and much more. The possibilities are endless.  Media is the message!"
